The beauty of Pentney Abbey is that you get an entire estate for your special day, and everything is close enough that you can saunter from space to space without taking any serious time out of your celebration.
At Pentney Abbey, everything you see is yours to utilise. The Gatehouse that guards the estate dates back to the 1300s and is complete with medieval carvings, arched windows, hanging tapestries and a secret staircase. It’s ideal for ceremonies of up to 80 guests with extra space downstairs for overflow or disabled guests, and serves as a unique setting for welcome drinks and canapes or post-vow toasts while the Barn is prepared for your reception. Pose for pictures on the lawn at the front of this one-of-a-kind building or behind it’s grand doors where you’ll find a sweet courtyard and Rose Garden, framed by Norfolk’s breathtaking countryside.
The Barn is a huge space complete with exposed beams and intricate brickwork, stone floors and striking lighting. There’s a new dance floor and Bar, and a sleek patio area spreads out just beyond the double doors, perfect for outdoor celebrations. You can fit up to 130 people in the Barn for your ceremony and/or wedding breakfast and reception, and there’s a variety of choices when it comes to layout.
Of course, your celebration extends far beyond the ceremony and reception. There’s the excitement of getting ready for your big moment – step inside our chic new Bridal Preparation Room with your closest friends, The Dress and a few glasses of champagne to really kick things off – and the very first night as a married couple, which you’ll spend in our romantic Bridal Cottage. Two more cottages and the Farmhouse mean your nearest and dearest can stay over too and meet you for a delicious breakfast in the morning.
