Choosing a colour scheme for your special day is probably one of the most exciting parts of your wedding planning. It is what you will base all of your décor and flowers around, and it may well have a personal meaning for you too.
While there are plenty of shades and palettes to choose from, we thought we’d take a closer look at some of the more popular at the moment to give you a taste of what’s out there.
Pink/Blush
Pink and pastel colour schemes are currently bang on trend. But it is no surprise as the soft colours which will be placed around the room, on the bridesmaids and in the bouquet are perfect to create that fairy-tale look.
Blue
We’ve all heard the traditional rhyme – ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’, so why not make your something blue your colour scheme? Pastel blue and pink are often coupled together to create the perfect mix of soft tones, but it is also ideal as a standalone colour scheme. More delicate shades are ideal in the spring and summer months while navy would be perfect for autumn or winter.
Purple
Purple is a beautiful colour which can be used either in a light pastel or in a deeper shade that works a treat with deep midnight blue. Purple will also bring a regal feel to your day, which would work really well for your ceremony in The Gatehouse.
Red
Bold and beautiful, red might not be as common over the last few years, but it is a timeless classic that conjures up feelings of love and romance. It can also offer a striking contrast against the traditional white.
