Alexie and Marcus enjoyed a romantic wedding celebration at Pentney Abbey.
The Venue
Planning their October wedding day, Alexie and Marcus were looking for a wedding venue in Norfolk where they could create a rustic, medieval theme. Pentney Abbey was the perfect place.
“It was the first venue I saw and I fell in love with the medieval looking abbey and the rustic barn.”

The Decor
The bride decided to incorporate her love of sunflowers, introducing their shade of yellow to this beautiful autumn wedding.
“I also like a bit of bling, so we had gold and sparkles everywhere!” – Alexie.
Fairy lights, bunting, illuminated letters and, of course, sunflowers, were integral elements of the décor.
The Look
Alexie chose her fishtail-style dress from the Cambridge Bridal Studio.
“I didn’t know what style of dress I wanted but this one just spoke to me. It hugged my figure and was covered in sequins with a little lace.”

The beautiful bride accessorised with a pearl and diamond necklace, pearl earrings and a pearl bracelet.
Marcus also dressed to impress, wearing his RAF uniform for the ceremony and changing in to a blue suit and gold waistcoat later in the day. Along with sunflowers, Alexie introduced blue thistle in to her bouquet to complement the blue of her grooms suit.
Finally, Alexie’s three flower girls looked adorable in Champagne coloured dresses with diamante buttons and silver trim, embracing the medieval theme.
The Food
Following their stunning wedding ceremony in the Gatehouse at Pentney, guests enjoyed welcome drinks and canapés in the Barn. Sunflowers were undoubtedly the order of the day, delighting everyone with their vibrant hue of yellow.
Moving on to their wedding breakfast, Alexie and Marcus chose a delicious menu of chicken Caesar salad followed by roast beef and cheesecake.
“During the evening, we served pulled pork sandwiches with potato wedges. They were amazing and the portions were huge, I don’t think anyone went hungry!”
ALEXIE
As the DJ played during the evening wedding reception, the newlyweds took to the floor to dance their first dance to ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perri. The dancefloor filled and guests danced the night away at the finale of this fabulous autumn day.
Alexie’s Final Thoughts
“When I put my dress on after having my hair done, I really felt like a bride for the first time. It made me so happy!”
