The Perfect Flowers for your Winter Wedding

We love winter weddings here at Pentney Abbey, with romantic ceremonies in the Gatehouse and spectacular celebrations in The Barn. Let’s take a look at some of the stunning seasonal blooms that work so well in our barn wedding venue.

Bridal Blooms

Introduce your floral theme through your bridal flowers, with a stunning bouquet for the bride and beautiful posies for your bridesmaids.

Embrace the romance of Pentney Abbey with an opulent bouquet of pinks, reds and greenery. We love the romantic addition of red roses and richly-coloured berries. Trailing foliage creates that ‘just picked’ look and is perfectly suited to a boho style winter wedding.

Deep reds and burgundies look beautiful at this time of year, especially when combined with pale pinks or peach. For bridesmaids or flower girls, sometimes you need only choose something very simple. Adding pine cones to a posy of gypsophila is a lovely choice for winter.

Buttonholes and Details

Carry your bridal theme through to the buttonholes, reflecting the same style as your bouquet.

For country style, a simple pine cone buttonhole is perfect. We love these delicate buttonholes with red berries.

White and ice blue lend themselves well to a winter wonderland. Carry greenery through to your tables and a napkin arrangement.

Decorative Arrangements

Look around your venue and decide where you might add arrangements. We love to see wedding flowers in The Gatehouse with the same theme carried through to The Barn.

Foliage, roses and candles make a spectacular display on this staircase. You could adapt a similar idea to line any walk way. Don’t forget to hang some mistletoe here and there!

Beams lend themselves perfectly to fairy lights and foliage. Pretty chair decorations are a lovely idea, particularly as pew ends during your ceremony.

Flowers for your Tables

Table centres are the obvious place to display flowers at your wedding reception. We love these winter floral delights.

Clouds of gypsophila are budget friendly and create a wonderful winter style.

Miniature Christmas displays look magical. Always add lighting to winter arrangements. Candles, pine cones and hand-picked seasonal blooms make an attractive display.
