The Barn was used as a medieval banquet hall, making it the perfect location for your wedding breakfast and evening party. It’s a really striking place with a lot of history, and from the impressive exposed beams and the original stonework to the gorgeous gatehouse, you won’t be short of backdrops for pictures of your special day.
You’ll enter the Barn via a gravel path, which is lined with attractive pruned trees in large pots. Double glass doors emblazoned with Pentney Abbey’s proud logo open to reveal a space that will comfortably seat 100 guests at round tables. We can accommodate up to 170 guests for your evening reception in total. There is also space for your DJ or live band to set up.
The look of the Barn is authentically historic with an elegant finish. Expect arched doorways and windows, impressive timber beams and open space. There’s a lot to look at in here, and everywhere you look you’ll be met with something new and distinctive. Take the huge wood beams that hang from the ceiling, topped with light bulbs, for example. The bar is a real feature of this historic building and has been renovated to fit with a modern wedding. There’s a patio outside too, so guests can spill out into the sunshine and there’s a fenced area of grass which is safe and secluded, perfect for children to play in.
